Brant County Federtion of Agriculture is please to introduce to you, our fourth "Celebrity Chef", Chef Jason Gibson.
Jason has 20 years of experience as a chef and likes to cook using fresh local products. He is the Cafeteria Manger at SC Johnson and a personal chef. Jason will be the featured chef at our upcoming Chili & Wing Fling on August 20, 2010 at the Burford Fairgrounds. Check out our website for more details.
Jason joined us at the Grand Renovation re-opening of the Brantford Farmer’s Market on May 15. We offered free samples of Ontario asparagus (grilled to perfection by Chef Gibson) to everyone who came to the market to celebrate the "re-opening" and officially launched our new Bountiful Brant website and the second edition map of the Buy Local! Buy Fresh! farm gate sales map for Brant County.
You can also pick up a hard copy of our Buy Local! Buy Fresh! farm gate sales map from such places as Brantford Tourism, Brantford Market, or any of the municipal offices in Brant County. Producers on our map should also have 2010 copies available at their stands.
As fresh local strawberries are now available it might just be the perfect time to try Chef Gibson’s delicious recipe for strawberry shortcake. Enjoy!
