Petra’s husband Willie is President of the Ontario Seed Growers’ Association and a well known farmer in Brant County.
The Brant County Federation of Agriculture is pleased to introduce you to our next “Celebrity Chef”, Petra Hilgendag. As one of five children Petra learned to cook from her Mom, who taught her that a good cook can improvise when necessary and isn’t afraid to experiment. Now cooking for her own family of 6 Petra recognizes the value of that advice, and the importance of making healthy eating choices. She likes to buy local and support Ontario farmers.
Please “join us as in the kitchen as we sample” a bowl of Petra’s delicious homemade stew or eintopf (which means one pot in German). The recipe will easily feed 4-6 hungry people and is one of her favourite recipes – a recipe she learned to make from her Mom.
